PhD Research Fellowship in Supervisory Control for the Power Grid of a Telescope, Norway
The University of Oslo (UiO) is Norway’s oldest and most prestigious institution for higher education and research. UiO offers a wide range of undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs across disciplines such as natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, law, and medicine.
To be eligible for the PhD position, applicants must hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in cybernetics, intelligent systems, automation, or related fields. A strong academic record is essential, with minimum grade requirements (C for Bachelor’s and B for Master’s courses in the Norwegian system).

Qualified persons are entitled to NOK 536,200 – 575,400 per annum as they continue in the programme.
PhD Research Fellowship in Supervisory Control for the Power Grid of a Telescope, Norway Qualifications- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in cybernetics, intelligent systems, automation, or related fields.
- Candidates completing their Master’s degree by June 30, 2025, are eligible to apply.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Model-predictive control, numerical optimization, econometrics, virtual power plants, power systems, machine learning, renewable energy systems, and advanced statistics.
- Must have a strong academic record (Bachelor’s degree courses with a minimum average grade of C and Master’s degree courses with a minimum average grade of B in the Norwegian system).
- Must have fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Cover letter detailing motivation and research interests.
- CV summarizing education, research experience, and academic work.
