Neil Armstrong was an American Astronaut who was the first in history to travel to the moon, he was raised and nurtured in Wapakoneta, Ohio in the United States of America. His parents were Koenig and Viola Stephen Armstrong. They all lived in the United States.

Journey to the moon

He travelled to the Moon with two other astronauts as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Armstrong descended to the lunar surface in the lunar module. Together, he made history by completing the first manned lunar landing and walk on July 20, 1969.

He didn’t do this alone he did it along with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Armstrong and Aldrin descended to the lunar surface in the lunar module, Eagle, while Collins remained in orbit around the Moon in the command module, Columbia.

He was the first person to walk on the Moon. During the Apollo 11 mission, he descended from the lunar module, Eagle, and set foot on the lunar surface, uttering the famous words, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Armstrong's historic step marked a significant milestone in human history and space exploration, inspiring generations to come.
