History of the University of Lagos (UNILAG)
The University of Lagos, is located in Lagos, Nigeria. It is one of the federal government owned universities, ranked among the top varsities in the world. As a matter of fact, it offers baccalaureate, Masters as well as Doctoral degrees on like other school. The origin of the school can be traced back to 1962 when the school was established, indeed it is a very old tertiary institution, which is over 40years old. The school has produced a good number of persons who are prominent, personalities in the country and the world at large. The current vice chancellor of the school is Professor Folasode Ogunsola, while the chancellor of the school currently, is Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar IBN Umar Garbai El -Kanemi, the shehu of Borno. The colour of the school is gold and maroon, the school admits a total of 55,000 students, with a 1,735 academic staff and 552 Administrative staff.
