The History of Gombe State University (GSU)

Gombe State University is a state university located  in Gombe, Gombe State, Nigeria. It is one of the public universities in the Northen part of Nigeria, it was established in the year 2004, it first Chancellor was Abdullah Mahadi. It is a member of the Association of CommonWealth Universities. The school was set up by the former Governor of the State Muhammed Danjuma Goje in 2003, the State Ministry of Education set up a 35 member committee of stakeholders, who worked hand in hand to the making of the school.

The Later was a Dean of the Faculty of Science and Postgraduate School of the University, who hailed from Nafada Local Government of the state.

Gombe State University (GSU) never had a school of Postgraduate, there were only three academic programs ongoing at the school of postgraduate of the University which was the M.A History, M.Sc Physics and PGDE during the 2008/2009 academic year of the school, but now the school currently has up to Six academic programs which was added in the 2014/2015 academic year of the school.
