Enugu State University  is a state university located in Enugu,  Enugu State, Nigeria. The school is been abbreviate as ESUT, which is the popular way students and those who are familiar with the school refers to it. There were only three faculties present at the school at the time it was established in 1985, which were the faculty of engineering, science and technology. It had two functional campuses at  Enugu and Awka.

It was formerly known as Anambra State University of Science and Technology (ASUTECH) in 1980 when its birth year  until 1991when it was changed to Enugu State University, this was under the administration of Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo.
